Safer Care in Action

During Canadian Patient Safety Week — and beyond — join us in Safer Care in Action, a campaign that celebrates how people across Canada are making care safer, in big and small ways.

Whether you're a patient, caregiver, provider, leader or community member, your actions matter. Share how you’re turning knowledge into action — from using our Celebrating Everyday Safety Acts activity card to hosting an event, starting a conversation, or sharing a story. Every action counts and helps make care safer.

How to participate

  1. Choose one or more everyday safety acts to complete. If you have more time, complete the Celebrating Everyday Safety Acts activity card with a group of people in your setting.
  2. Post on social media using the hashtag #SaferCareInAction and tag Healthcare Excellence Canada. During Canadian Patient Safety Week include #CPSW2025.
  3. Inspire others by tagging colleagues, friends, or community members to encourage them to participate.

Recognition and highlights

During CPSW and throughout the year, we’ll be spotlighting your stories and actions with:

  • Weekly social media features of top posts during CPSW
  • Mentions in our corporate newsletter and campaign wrap-up
  • The chance to be featured in a future All Voices for Safer Care blog series

Every post, reflection and safe act helps turn knowledge into action for safer care — together.

Follow and tag us

Remember to tag us when you share your post so we can amplify your efforts and include your voice in the campaign:

Keep the momentum going

Safer Care in Action doesn’t stop when Canadian Patient Safety Week ends. Share your stories, reflections and actions year-round using #SaferCareInAction. Let’s continue to show how people across Canada are making care safer — together.
