Expanding Perspectives: Understanding and Reducing Healthcare Harm

Safety efforts have focused primarily on recognizing and reducing physical harm. However, psychological, social and spiritual harm can also occur during the delivery and receiving of care.
In this session, participants will explore the importance of broadening their understanding and recognition of healthcare harm to include all aspects of safety and well-being. They will hear from individuals who have experienced healthcare harm firsthand and the importance of learning from the perspective of the person who experienced it.
